Upload main image here: ![]() ![]() ![]() | Stoke boss Tony Pulis has shown he has little room for sentiment after releasing club captain Dominic Matteo. The former Liverpool centre-back is one of four players not to be offered a new deal at the Britannia. Keeper Russell Hoult, defender Marlon Broomes and midfielder Robert Garrett are also on their way out. Another player who will not be at Stoke next season is Chris Riggott. The Middlesbrough centre-back joined the Potters on loan in March but is wanted back at the Riverside. Boro boss Gareth Southgate said: "Chris told me that he enjoyed coming back more than he thought he would. "With Chris, I learned a lesson that I need to pick players on form, not reputation. "He maybe feels it was an uneven playing field last season, but I have assured him that it won´t be like that next year." Pulis said: "I´ve had no contact with Gareth and I think Middlesbrough would have been on to us by now if anything was going to happen." ![]() ![]() ![]() |
